The Embedded Academy provides independent educational material for people who design, develop, verify and support embedded products.

Paul Gardner is a senior engineering leader with more than 40 years of experience in safety-critical engineering and over 12 years in medical-device and digital-health development. He has led multidisciplinary development organisations and worked across systems, electronics, embedded software, verification and validation, risk management and cybersecurity.

Through The Embedded Academy, Paul’s goal is to help engineers look beyond isolated technical tasks and understand how architecture, interfaces, risk controls and objective evidence fit together throughout the product lifecycle.

Why this library exists

Embedded development crosses many disciplines. Good outcomes depend on people understanding not only their own component, but how it interacts with physical behaviour, timing, data, failure responses, manufacture and lifecycle support.

The material uses practical language and realistic engineering examples to explain those connections.
